Merhaba
which means hello in Turkish. Welcome to my homepage.
I came to England about 14 years ago and decided
to settle here. I have adapted to the British
way of life and find I am torn between two cultures
sometimes. I don't think you ever forget your
roots but I love the UK and I enjoy living here.
I always go back to my home city of Istanbul every
year and still have relatives over there. There
are quite a few Turkish people living in Birmingham
and they have their own Association. You can get
details from them at the Turkish
Association which has a web page on this web
site.
If I won the lottery tommorrow I would buy a big
house on the Bosphorous in Istanbul, one in Birmingham
and I would treat my family to a world cruise.
I would not change my character if I could help
it but I would probably give up working and sell
the restaurant.
What
I like most about the West Midlands:
Being part of English society in the West Midlands
where people have made me feel so welcome.
