Gas Street Basin
Just off Broad Street and under the shadow of the Hyatt Hotel
the basin is the old central hub of Birmingham's Canal System.

Gun Quarter
There is no longer a dedicated area called the Gun Quarter but gun production
does still exist in Birmingham.

Hagley Hall
Hagley Hall and Park is a wonderful example of 18th century English Architecture.

Hall of Memory
The Hall of Memory is situated in front of Baskerville House
and depicts scenes from World War I in it's stained glass windows.
Serene and somewhat awkward in it's positioning it is a well known
landmark.

Handsworth Old Town Hall
An early timber framed construction from circa 1460

Highbury
Victorian brick mansion and extensive gardens. This was once the home of Joseph

Himley Hall
The hall was
the home of the Ward family who had links with the royal family.
Royalty has stayed at the hall and Edward VIII used to be a regular
visitor.

International Convention Centre
This is one of Europe's premier conference centres. The
interior is well laid out and a pleasure to walk through. The Symphony
Hall is housed within the same building. Many prominent international
conferences take place here.

Ikon Gallery
The Ikon Gallery
is a well known art gallery for new art. Exhibitions from the UK
and further afield. Now situated in new premises in Oozells Square
in Brindley Place. It also has a cafe and bookshop.

Jewellery Quarter Museum
Located in Vyse Street this is a real live working jewellery
factory. Also known as the Discovery Centre, it is unique in that
it has been preserved since 1899 and was once operated by Smith
and Pepper, a family Jewellery firm who only ceased trading in 1981
because the partners retired. The restoration and reopening is a
story in itself. Well worth a visit. Watch the parking round here
though as the council charge £50 for parking without a ticket.
Jewellery Quarter
Established in Birmingham for over 200 years the craftsmen of the Jewellery
Quarter still operate as a tight knit community producing fine jewellery.
