This
major landmark is a large conference centre in the heart of Birmingham
city. It's full title is The International Convention Centre and the
complex includes the Symphony Hall. Visitors to the city can walk from
Brindleyplace, through the ICC and across Centenary Square on route to
the city centre.
Part of the NEC group, the building took 4 years to complete and used
over 60,000 cubic metres of concret. It was opened in 1991 by Queen
Elizabeth II. A valuable community building it is close to the NIA and
the National Sea Life Centre.

In 1998, world leaders met here for the G8 summit with President
Clinton visiting the nearby Malt House Pub by the canal. The building
is home to several regular events and many one off occassions. The
interior of the building is particularly impressive and spacious with
cafe facilties and numerous meeting rooms and halls for business
delegates
