This short tour of Scotland starts at Gretna Green
and takes us through to Loch Lomond and the Highlands of Scotland until
we reach Mallaig via the Jacobite Steam Train.
The Scottish Highlands are a mountainous region of
Scotland which have not been clearly defined. The Highlands is one of
the most sparsely populated areas of Europe and one of the most
beautiful.
During the summer months the visitor to this part
of Scotland will see plenty of signs warning the visitor to purchase
insect spray or cream to fend of the notorious Scottish midge, which
can be found in great numbers and which can be particularly unpleasant
for humans.
