The name of Leicester is a development from the name of the
original people of the area who lived by a river that has since changed
its name. The roman suffix 'cester' suggests that the romans called the
river Soar something like Legra or Legra.
Leicester in the heart of England features an
impressive historic
array of museums, castles and beautiful historic villages and market
towns. Loughborough, famous for bell casting and Market Harborough and
Ashby de la Zouch are popular tourist destinations.
The historical market towns of Melton Mowbray,
Oakham and
Market Harborough are surrounded by beautiful countryside, rural
England at its best.
