Dudmaston - National Trust

House, gardens, shop and tea room

Dudmaston, Shropshire

For 850 years the Dudmaston Estate has moved through time with its changing owners and fortunes. The house was completed in 1701 and a parapet and changed roof line added in the 1820's. The estate passed over to the National Trust in 1978 as a gift from Rachel Labouchere who was fulfilling her fathers wishes that the estate be looked after for future generations. The oak room is impressive and the furniture and paintings, along with the sculptures make this an interesting residence. The estate walks are also superb.
