of the UK. Derbyshire is an interesting and varied county. Leisurely relaxed country villages with superb scenic countryside and bustling towns like Derby. Derby is the main city of Derbyshire. The Danes gave this name to the original settlement which was called Northworthy. Derby means deer park or place where deer are found.

Derbyshire has other towns and villages of notable interest such
as Ashbourne, Bakewell, Chesterfield, Matlock and Buxton to name but a few. The beautiful Peak District is one of the UK's leading tourist destinations.
