Welcome to Barry Island - South Wales

Despite its name Barry Island is not really an island at all. The docks, which were built over a century ago ensured that Barry became connected to the rest of the mainland.

Barry is generally remembered for its pleasure park which has numerous attractions and amusements and is popular with visitors.

Barry Island once upon-a-time used to play host to a Butlins Resort of which you can still see the remains today. The Pleasure Park was also famous for it's Scenic Railway which dominated half of the site back in the early 1900's, this was damaged years ago but some of the materials were used to create the Log Flume, which still remains today as one of the parks most popular attractions.

Whitmore Bay and the gardens and promenade at Barry, offer the visitor an alternative to the bright lights, fast food and merry-go-round entertainment of the park.
